As expected, with the race for line honours wrapping up this morning the mainstream media has lost interest in the race and the sailing publishers have been left to provide updates on the 'real' race finish.
Sail World has been busy publishing a lot of awesome material today, here's a quick highlight:
Sydney Hobart Race 2012 – Jazz tries to spoil Wild Oats XI’s treble
Sydney Hobart 2012 - Carlo Borlenghi's shots of Wild Oats XI's triumph
Rolex Sydney Hobart 2012: Ragamuffin Loyal Finish Images
I've spent the day watching the standings on the official Rolex Sydney Hobart. It seems to be that there are a few yachts that could spoil Wild Oats one-sided party (I'm sure after Bob Oatley comments this morning they would be happy to share the victory spoils, seems like a really nice guy). By 8AM tomorrow morning we will probably have a definite answer on this, but it seems to me that each time one of these threats gets slightly ahead, it drops back off again.
UPDATE - 8PM: Not much news to report, news.com.au has published a new article on the handicap race, but any upsets look unlikely at this point:
Race goes on for Sydney to Hobart fleet after Wild Oats XI takes line honours
And in other news, Ragamuffin Loyal has not been penalized for being over the line at the start of the race:
Ragamuffin Loyal avoids incurring penalty
